Knockout Predictions and the “Tank” Test: M Reck Weighs in on Boxing’s Biggest Fights, Discussing Jake Paul’s Path Against Gervonta Davis and Potential Mega-Bouts with Canelo Alvarez, Errol Spence Jr., and Bernard Hopkins

M Reck is known as an insightful digital artist and media personality, but his knowledge and passion extend into the world of combat sports. In a chat with ScoopB.com, M Reck offered sharp analysis and candid predictions for one of the most talked-about match-ups of the year: the exhibition boxing bout between social media star Jake Paul and reigning lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 14th.

The Size Disparity: A Whole Different “Tank”

M Reck’s initial excitement for the fight is rooted in the significant size difference between the two men. Paul, who has fought around 200 lbs, is giving up considerable weight and height to Davis, the current WBA lightweight champion (typically around 135 lbs). The fight is set for a catchweight of 195 pounds.

“I’m very excited! I’m excited to see how it goes first and foremost due to the size advantage Jake [Paul] has and then also, I’m curious to see if Tank can put him to sleep,” M Reck states.

He highlights the challenge for Davis, who is dramatically moving up in weight class for this bout. “Jake Paul being the bigger fighter; being in a different weight class—I believe that Jake Paul is 199 lbs… 200? Something like that? I believe that the weight is regulated at 195 if I’m not mistaken and I’m trying to understand that because Tank is 135, right? So he has to put on about 60 pounds? So I’m curious to see how that works out — because he’s like, 5’4”? So being 5’5” at almost 200 lbs, we’re gonna get a whole different Tank. And Jake Paul is 6’1” so there you go.”

Despite the size chasm, M Reck sees clear advantages for the smaller, more decorated boxer. “Speed I would say. I think he’s fast. I would say being though he’s smaller, he’s a little bit more agile and he definitely has that dynamite stick in that right hand, you know?”

Paul’s Credibility at Stake

For Paul, fighting a current, elite-level boxer like Davis is a significant step, and M Reck believes the outcome holds serious weight for Paul’s boxing career, regardless of the exhibition tag.

“Yes [it matters if Jake Paul beats Gervonta Davis]. Because Tank is an official boxer that’s active now that’s putting everybody to sleep.”

If Paul manages to win, M Reck predicts a mixed reaction from the professional boxing community. “Yeah and no. Because if he beats Tank, it’s that fear that they’ll be like, ‘This Jake Paul guy is REALLY serious. He’s really THAT GUY…'”

Looking Ahead: Canelo Over Crawford

Pivoting to the potential next opponents for Paul should he defeat Davis, M Reck quickly offers a definitive opinion on two of the sport’s current legends: Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford.

“Yeah, I think that he should stay away from Crawford [laughs]… but also I think Canelo would be a better opponent,” M Reck asserts.

He holds high regard for Crawford, praising his dominance and unique skill set. “Crawford is…. Different. I’m glad that he’s getting his just due now even though he’s been dominating the sport since forever but you know for some reason they didn’t give him that spotlight, but he’s somebody that fights with both hands. He’s ambidextrous and also he’s strong and I just think he’s dangerous, you know?”

M Reck also briefly touched on a match-up with Errol Spence Jr., noting it “would be interesting,” but pointed out the former champion’s inactivity since his loss to Crawford.

An Unlikely Clash

The discussion circled back to Davis’s weight gain and the possibility of him fighting Crawford, a bout M Reck previously considered unlikely.

“That would be a big fight! But I don’t know. I don’t think that’s gonna happen. Well I mean, after this fight with Jake Paul if Tank is coming up to 195 (supposedly)… I don’t think he’s gonna do that but let’s just say he comes up to 195, then I think we’ll see that because now we know that he can come up in weight to fight somebody like a Bud Crawford, you know what I sayin’?”

M Reck concluded by advising fans to manage their expectations until the opening bell. “So we gotta see how this Jake Paul and Tank thing plays out because we’ve seen plenty times with Jake Paul, the fights just didn’t happen at the last minute, you know? So let’s see if this thing goes down on November 14th.”
